Contribute
There are several ways that you can contribute to By Jovi, although you don't have to contribute at all, it is entirely optional. If you decide to contribute for a while, and then want to stop, that's fine -- we won't demand any explanations from you when you stop. You're able to contribute as often (or as little) as you like, it really is up to you.
Email update contributions
The most important way that you can contribute to By Jovi is to share any news or information that you hear about Bon Jovi. TV, radio, newspaper and magazine alerts are especially appreciated. We don't post rumours on By Jovi, but if you're not sure if what you've heard is true, then send details to us anyway, and we'll investigate further before including the details in our email updates.
If you've been lucky enough to see Bon Jovi in concert, many of our members would love to read all about it. Not everyone has had the opportunity to see Bon Jovi in concert, and we have members from countries where Bon Jovi have never played (Israel for one example)... but even fans who have seen Bon Jovi in concert numerous times enjoy reading concert reviews. :)
Have you ever met the band, spoken to them, or managed to get an autograph or photo in person? Again, many of our members would love to read all about it. You can include as much detail as you want to -- good things to include would be the date, the location, details of anything you (or they) said, and maybe to describe your emotions too. We don't send attachments on By Jovi, but if you have a photo to accompany your story, we can upload it to our Yahoo! Groups website for everyone to see.
Many of our members also love reading transcripts of TV and radio shows. If you do transcribe any TV or radio shows, please include the name of the show, the channel or station it aired on, the date of the show and the country of origin. (This helps people who want to get a copy of the show on audio or video.)
When new songs are released we encourage reviews of them, as well as attempts at working out the lyrics, and we also welcome interpretations of new songs too. Of course, you can ask questions about Bon Jovi as well, and post requests for pen pals and concert buddies too.
You should note that we do not accept trade lists or details of items for sale/auction, and nor do we allow advertisements for unofficial websites, fan clubs or fanzines. However, we will post requests for Bon Jovi items. So, if you're looking for a specific Bon Jovi item (CD, video, t-shirt etc), we will post your message, but we won't post any replies from people who say that they have that item to trade/sell. (It is up to the person trading or selling the item to contact you privately; this is why we include everyone's email address!) We do allow people to sell European Bon Jovi concert tickets via By Jovi at face value though, and also to trade concert tickets on a like-for-like basis.
Please send all contributions to: ByJovi-owner@yahoogroups.com
Website contributions
At some point in the future, we will be accepting contributions to the By Jovi website. We haven't finished building our website yet though, so we're concentrating on that at the moment. Once our website is completed, we'll post a message in our email updates explaining how you can contribute. (We'll also update this page at the same time.)
Donations
If you want to, you can send By Jovi a donation via PayPal. You can transfer money directly from your PayPal account, or if you don't have a PayPal account, PayPal will allow you to send a donation using your credit or debit card instead.
Anything that you send will be used to pay for our hosting and domain name fees. (Melissa has paid all the costs for this website, and the domain names, out of her own pocket since January 1999.) You can donate as much or as little as you like -- every penny will be gratefully received. Donations are completely voluntary, so if you don't want to contribute, you don't have to. All donations will be kept confidential.
Please note that By Jovi is not a registered charity, therefore any donations made to us are not tax deductible.
