Access Keys

Photo of Jon Bon Jovi. Copyright 2003 Nath Gautreau. We've tried to make our website as accessible as possible. One of the things which we've done to help with accessibility, is to add the UK Government access keys system to our website.

Access keys are keyboard shortcuts which allow you to navigate our website without using a mouse or other pointing device. This can sometimes be quicker, especially if you have motor skill difficulties.

As access keys work in a slightly different way in different web browsers, we've put together a list of some of the differences below.

Windows and Internet Explorer version 5+...
Pressing the "alt" key and the access key simultaneously will give focus to the access key text. If the text is also a link, then you can press the "enter" or "return" key in order to go to the linked destination.
Windows and Internet Explorer version 4 or Netscape version 6+...
Pressing the "alt" key and the access key simultaneously will take you straight to the linked destination.
Mac OS...
Pressing the "control" key and the access key simultaneously will take you straight to the linked destination.

If your operating system and/or web browser is not listed above, please consult the documentation for your web browser, to see if it supports access keys.
